At Little Critters Learning Center, we know that the first few years of a child’s life are a whirlwind of milestones. From the first social smile to the first independent steps, these moments are the building blocks of a lifelong love for learning. Our infant and toddler programs in West Jordan provide a safe, high-quality environment where your “little critter” can explore the world at their own pace, backed by the peace of mind that only a family-owned center can provide.
The story of Little Critters began long before our doors opened. Two of our owners, Mechelle and Niki, have shared a close bond for over 25 years. Their journey started when Mechelle began caring for Niki’s children, sparking a lifelong friendship rooted in a shared passion for early childhood development.
Along with our third owner, Steve, they saw a specific need for a high-quality, family-operated childcare center in the West Jordan community—a place where children aren’t just “watched,” but are truly valued and nurtured. Today, that vision is a reality. As a family-owned business, we don’t answer to a corporate office; we answer to the families who walk through our doors every morning.
Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a monumental step. We have designed our infant program to be a “home away from home,” prioritizing emotional security and physical safety above all else.
Our highly trained caregivers focus on individualized care, following your baby’s unique schedule for feeding, sleeping, and play. Because we are Top Star Certified and partnered with DDI Vantage Early Headstart, our nursery isn’t just a place for naps; it’s a space for sensory discovery. We engage our littlest learners with soft textures, music, and plenty of “tummy time” to build motor skills.
Once children are on the move, their curiosity becomes boundless. Our toddler program is centered around Purposeful Play. At this age, “learning” looks like stacking blocks, finger painting, and exploring our secure indoor play areas.
