At Little Critters Learning Center, childcare should feel like an extension of your own home. Located conveniently in West Jordan, right across from Jordan Landing, our center is a vibrant, secure, and clean environment where children from six weeks to eleven years old come to thrive. We understand that choosing a learning center is one of the most important decisions a parent can make, which is why we’ve built our foundation on three core pillars: Safety, Transparency, and Purposeful Play.

Our Story: Built on 25 Years of Friendship

The story of Little Critters began long before our doors opened. Two of our owners, Mechelle and Niki, have shared a close bond for over 25 years. Their journey started when Mechelle began caring for Niki’s children, sparking a lifelong friendship rooted in a shared passion for early childhood development.

Along with our third owner, Steve, they saw a specific need for a high-quality, family-operated childcare center in the West Jordan community—a place where children aren’t just “watched,” but are truly valued and nurtured. Today, that vision is a reality. As a family-owned business, we don’t answer to a corporate office; we answer to the families who walk through our doors every morning.

Children learn best when they are having fun. Our play-based curriculum is designed to encourage exploration, creativity, and hands-on experiences. By allowing children to grow naturally at their own pace, we help them build more than just academic skills; we help them build confidence, problem-solving abilities, and a lifelong love for learning. Whether your child is an infant reaching their first milestones or a kindergartner preparing for “big school,” our environment is tailored to support their social-emotional and cognitive growth.

Little Critters is a State Licensed and Certified High Quality Center, rated by the Office of Childcare and Top Star Certified through the Utah Health Department. We are also proud partners with the DDI Vantage Early Headstart Program.

Live-Streaming Cameras: Parents can log in to check on their child in real time throughout the day.
Secure Facilities: Our center features a secure biometric entry system; a code is required for entry, and photo IDs are mandatory for all visitors.
Nut-Free Environment: We are a strictly nut-free facility with updated allergy protocols in every classroom.
Highly Trained Staff: Every team member undergoes a rigorous background check and completes at least 20 hours of annual training, with many holding or working toward their CDA (Child Development Associate) credentials.
